WHAT HAS HAPPEND TO CYCLEWORKS?
Well…a lot will change in these four walls, but since September the 1st 2017 the bike shop in Haslemere formally know as Cycleworks has changed to MB Cyclery. Mike Smith and Benjamin Marks, former employees of the Haslemere store have taken over the shop and look to bring a new and independent outfit run by cyclists for cyclists.
If you’ve been a regular of Cycleworks, you will still recognise the friendly faces inside, but we hope to bring a fresh twist to the great cycling community in the town and beyond.
Mike and Ben have been long term bikeaholics, working, racing and playing with bikes of all kinds for many years. Working together in Haslemere in the past, they have got to know the local cyclist of Hampshire and Surrey and beyond very well. They have come back as an independent shop under there own name, hoping to bring the best quality service back to the Haslemere bike shop.
A husband, a racer and a bike nut. Mike has been riding and racing since the days of Tioga DH saddles and Marzocchi bombers. Mike has gained a place in the MTB hall of fame with his dirt jump antics in the past and landing many a front cover on your favourite bike magazines over the years. Most recently though he's turned his hand to road racing, using his mtb skills and competitiveness for his favourite race discipline, the criterium. Mike is a self confessed kit junkie, so if you want the latest heads up on the freshest helmet shoe combo he's the man to speak too.
All things bike. From long distance tandem bike touring (never again) to national level criterium racing at the Tour Series, Ben has competed and partaken in just about every form of cycling going. Between the riding of bikes, Ben has also supported riders as a personal mechanic at UCI DH events around the world. If you need help deciphering the latest electric tech or a tinker with a vintage eroica project he's the man to speak too.
